AOC Gaming Q27G2S WQHD monitor with 170 Hz, 1 ms G2G and IPS

Amazon UK lists a new 27 inch gaming monitor called AOC Q27G2S, which is aimed at gamers. The new AOC gaming monitor has an IPS panel with WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), up to 170 Hz refresh rate, and DisplayHDR-400 certification.

The contrast ratio is 1000: 1, the color depth is 10 bits, the response time is 1 ms (gray to gray), and the typical brightness is 350 cd/m². On top of that, the AOC screen comes up with 100 percent sRGB, 96 percent DCI-P3, a Delta-E value of less than 2, and G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync.

You won’t find internal speakers or a USB hub, but there are two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, and a headphone output. The AOC monitor can be rotated, tilted, adjusted in height, and pivoted. Blue light filtering, flicker-free background lighting, and VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm) complete the ergonomic functionality. The typical power requirement of the 27 inch monitor is estimated at 40 watts.

The AOC Q27G2S weighs 4.6 kg without the stand and has dimensions of 611.8 x 365.8 x 49.2 mm (W x H x D). As an alternative to sync technology, a mode for reducing moving image blurring can be activated via OSD. A black stabilizer is also available if required.

Price and availability

The AOC Q27G2S has been priced at £279.99 and is already available to purchase via the Amazon.co.uk website. The press release mentions a refresh rate of 165 instead of 170 Hz, but this does not necessarily mean that 170 Hz will not be possible after all. Presumably, the value is achieved via overclocking anyway.
