Acer introduced the Nitro VG242Y, a new gaming monitor in its Nitro VG2 series. The Acer Nitro VG242Y has a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, DisplayHDR 400 certification, and a native resolution of 1080p.
Acer has expanded its line of Nitro VG2 gaming monitors with a new 24-inch model, the Nitro VG242Y. The company’s latest monitor with AMD FreeSync Premium technology, the game’s frame rate is determined by your graphics card, not the fixed refresh rate of the monitor, giving you a serious competitive edge.
The new Acer gaming monitor available with a 23.8-inch screen in a 16: 9 aspect ratio. The IPS panel operates natively at 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a 16.7 million color and a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz. Acer claims that the new 165Hz monitor also has a contrast ratio of 1000: 1 and that it is DisplayHDR 400 certified. In addition, the 165 Hz monitor is supposed to have a response time of 1 ms (gray to gray) and is compatible with AMD Free Sync.
The Nitro VG242Y has a zero-frame design that does away with the thick frames found on conventional monitors freeing up precious screen space so you have more to look at from edge to edge. The monitor also has a DisplayPort 1.2 connection and two HDMI 2.0 ports. You should know that only the DisplayPort connection can reach 165 Hz; HDMI 2.0 connections are limited to 144Hz.
