Joby introduced a new vlog microphone for filming blogs/vlogs. This is a Joby Wavo model that weighs 40 grams. In addition, the microphone camera has compact dimensions – 9.3 cm x 7.1 cm. In order to evaluate its dimensions in more detail, take a look at the photo below:
The Joby microphone has a frequency response of 35 Hz to 20 kHz and a signal to noise ratio – SPL 78 db. The manufacturer positions the novelty as an option for use when shooting on a smartphone.
The new Wavo super-cardioid microphone (model JB01675-BWW) is included in the new Joby product line along with the Wavo Mobile cardioid microphone (JB01643-BWW).
Wavo consists of Hytrel (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) and PU (polyurethane) materials. The design of the case, as the manufacturer claims, ensures the durability of the product.
The microphone comes with a special Hytrel Double Point Duo-Lyre mount system, which was developed by Rycote. This system allows you to isolate the vibration and shaking of the camera from the microphone in order to avoid getting extraneous sound on the recording.
The manufacturer suggests using a new vlog microphone to record vlogs. Joby argues that this will give a significant increase in sound quality when compared with the spherical sound of microphones built into the cameras. Thus, the vlogger will be able to record his voice even if there is a crowd around. The new Joby Wavo microphone has already gone on sale through the Amazon.com online store, priced at $79.95. While the Wavo Mobile version will cost $39.95 only.
