After extensive use of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, I received a low battery alert and decided to test its charging time capabilities with its 90W charging capacity. While this may not be the highest rate among Android devices, it surpasses many companies utilizing Power Delivery systems.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra boasts a 5000mAh battery. According to Xiaomi, with Boost Mode enabled, it takes approximately 33 minutes to charge the battery to full capacity. This feature activates the 90W HyperCharge mode when necessary.
For testing purposes, I allowed the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s battery to drain completely before plugging it in. The device took approximately 47 minutes to reach a full charge. Upon plugging in the charger, the device powered up after a minute, requiring me to manually enable Boost Mode to optimize the charging performance. Notably, the device exhibited noticeable heat generation during the charging process.
The charging progress was substantial, with the battery reaching 74% within 30 minutes and hitting 91% just 10 minutes later. In comparison to the realme GT Neo5, a leading fast-charging device that fully charges its 4600mAh battery in just 11 minutes, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra secures a competitive spot in the market.
Despite these industry-leading charging times, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s 46-minute and 47-second charging duration remains impressive. This rapid charging capability ensures convenience for users, allowing them to start their day without delay by simply plugging in the device while attending to morning routines.
