Razer has given the Blade 15 an update that has it all: The already relatively thin and light gaming notebook is even thinner, while an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 in combination with a 360 Hz display – or a 4K OLED screen – Razer Blade 15 2021 is designed to provide the best possible gaming experience.
Just like before, the Razer Blade 15 is available again as a more Advanced version. The more expensive model will remain more exciting in 2021 because Razer managed to make the simple metal case even thinner – with a thickness of 16.99 millimeters, almost a whole millimeter was saved compared to the previous model, the new model weighs 2.14 kilograms.
Nevertheless, there are strong upgrades, because Razer is already relying on the brand new GeForce RTX 3000 graphics chips, buyers can choose between a GeForce RTX 3070 with 8 GB GDDR6 or an Nvidia GeForce 3080, with 8 GB or 16 GB GDDR6-VRAM. With the processor, however, nothing happens, Razer continues to rely on Intel Comet Lake-H, in the Advanced model a Core i7-10875H with eight cores and clock frequencies of up to 5.1 GHz is used.
There are three exciting options for the 15.6-inch Razer gaming laptop: a 360 Hz fast 1080p panel, a 240 Hz 1,440p panel, or a 4K OLED touchscreen with a frame rate of 60 Hz, which makes the DCI-P3 -Can represent color space completely. It is equipped with up to 32 GB DDR4 RAM, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C), HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader, a 720p webcam compatible with Windows Hello, and a keyboard with RGB-Lighting. The battery has a capacity of 80 Wh, if desired it can also be charged via USB-C.
The base model, on the other hand, only has internal upgrades; the case remains 19.9 millimeters thick. The cheaper model is optionally equipped with a GeForce RTX 3060 with 6 GB GDDR6 or a GeForce RTX 3070 with 8 GB GDDR6 and with an Intel Core i7-10750H with six cores and clock frequencies of up to 5.0 GHz. For the display, Razer gives the customer choice between a 144 Hz 1080p panel or a 165 Hz 1440p screen that fully displays the DCI-P3 color space.
Thunderbolt 3 is also available in the cheaper model, but charging via USB-C is not possible. The battery is a bit smaller with 65 Wh, RGB keyboard can only be controlled in one zone and not per key. The SD card reader is also missing, a webcam is not compatible with Windows Hello. The base model equipped with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB PCIe M.2 SSD, just like the more expensive model, there is a free M.2 slot to expand the memory.
