Sony has just released a new update for PlayStation 4, which brings the firmware version 5.0.1. As you can imagine from the version number, this is a minor upgrade that does not include any particular features; even the official changelog just includes performance and stability improvement and nothing more than that.
In this case, this is an optional upgrade, so you do not have to update to use the console’s online features, even if you are still advised to proceed without much fear. The update has a weight of 357.3MB and, although not explicitly stated, might have introduced the patch expected to correct the E-801809A8 error, as well as several other bugs caused by the recent major firmware 5.0 update.
So we have to wait for the first feedback on it so we can find out if Sony has finally solved this annoying problem.
