OnePlus 5T was listed for pre-orders online with prices and specifications while its predecessor continues to be unavailable. The online store OppoMart listed the smartphone with a starting price of $549 for the 6GB RAM / 64GB ROM and $649 for the 8GB RAM / 128GB ROM versions.
To make a quick comparison, OnePlus 5 was sold at $479 for 6GB RAM / 64GB ROM and $539 for the 8GB RAM / 128GB ROM model. If the new prices were confirmed, we would find a significant price increase, in fact, OnePlus 5 and the alleged OnePlus 5T are basically the same devices, with minimal technical differences and FullView display design.
OnePlus 5T Specifications
Some recent reports claim that the OnePlus 5T will feature a 6-inch display along with a full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The device also comes with an aluminum frame with a bottom-positioned speaker and it is expected to have a slightly higher capacity battery than the 3500mAh pack available on the OnePlus 5.
The OnePlus 5T will have a similar chassis to that of the OnePlus 5. This means that both the OnePlus smartphones will have identical dimensions. Thus, to make space for the large display panel, the company has apparently shifted the fingerprint scanner from the front to the back of the 5T.
For more information, we point out the OnePlus 5T AnTuTu benchmark score has also emerged. Unfortunately, this device has the same OnePlus 5 product code A5010, despite the fact that there are an FHD+ panel and a 20-megapixel rear and front cameras. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with Adreno 540 GPU and running Android 8.0 Oreo OS. At the moment it is still difficult to ascertain the authenticity of the screen.
OnePlus is yet to confirm the development of the OnePlus 5T. But a number of rumors and the quality of leaks suggest that an official announcement could soon take place.
