Nikon AF-S Nikkor 500mm, 600mm and AF-S 16-85mm Lenses officially Launched

These are extreme longer focal length lenses that elevating your ability to quickly capture stunning images, dedicated to the needs of wildlife or sports photography. The name of the lens has said it all: the focal length 500mm/600mm, aperture F/4E, with the ED lens FL (Fluorite) and VR (stabilization). Two new Nikon lenses have a magnesium alloy lens barrel design and the incorporation of fluorite elements makes it nearly 3 pounds lighter than its predecessor. Nikon has equipped Electromagnetic Diaphragm mechanism operates in sync with the camera shutter for fast automatic exposure control and consistency between shots, even when using a compatible teleconverter. In two new lenses, Nikon added optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.

In terms of weight, the AF-S NIKKOR 500mm F/4E FL ED VR Lens weighs approximately 3,090gr, 20% lighter than previous versions and AF-S NIKKOR 600mm F/4E FL ED VR Lens weighs 3,810gr, 25% lighter than its predecessor. By applying Fluorite lens technology and made of a magnesium alloy chassis, the new lens is not only lighter but also more robust and durable than older versions.

Nikon will sell AF-S Nikkor 500mm F/4E FL ED VR lens for $ 10,299.95 and AF-S Nikkor 600mm F/4E FL ED VR will cost $ 12,299.95. Both lenses will be available in the US and Japan in mid-July.
