Nikon expands Z-System with lightweight NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f2.8 lens

With the NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f2.8, Nikon has introduced its lightest full-frame wide-angle zoom lens for the mirrorless cameras of the Nikon Z system. Thus, it covers many wide-angle categories like landscape, city, and architectural photography but is also suitable for events, reports, and creative storytelling.

NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f2.8 wide angle Nikon zoom lens

The NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f2.8 is the ideal lens for captivating vistas and frame-filling close-ups to tell different visual stories from a unique perspective. Whether landscapes or cityscapes, sweeping skies or street scenes, facades or interiors: with the focal length range of 17-28 mm, photographers can take both detailed wide-angle shots and close-ups from daring angles. Filmmakers can draw their audience into a scene with wide shots or create a sense of space even in tight spaces.

The new Nikon zoom lens has been developed to enable versatile and creative wide-angle photography. With the high light intensity of 1:2.8, which remains constant over the entire focal length range, it is perfect for available light photography or creative work with exposure times.

With the wide-open aperture, and focused on the foreground, the lens provides an attractive background blur. For dramatic ultra-wide-angle close-up shots, photographers will benefit from a minimum focusing distance of just 0.19m, allowing for sharp, clear results up close. In addition, the large zoom ring of the lens offers convenient handling and stable photography. Nikon’s responsive autofocus focuses on the subject safely and quickly.
