In addition to configuration and features inherited from the Nikon D810 DSLR Camera, D810A version also supports more functions to capture the stars such as long exposures, shutter speeds stretch from 4 seconds to 15 minutes, an infrared filter is tuned to capture regular shots. In particular, the Nikon D810A infrared filter can capture an amazing red hue of diluted nebulae and constellations 4 times better compared to its predecessor D810, this will help the photographer to easily capture the beautiful images of Stars.

However, the Nikon also advised not to use the D810A to shoot normal photos because the filter will distort the color and make the picture unreal. Through the live view preview, Nikon D810A automatically increases the brightness of the screen to see how we click last photo. Previously, people did not do that and wait for the camera to be complete the process. Now in D810A we can see results immediately without having to spend much time. Nikon D810A live view preview can emulate shooting time exposure of up to 30 seconds, quite enough for Astrophotography. And like the refurbished Nikon D810, D810A camera also monitors up to 23x zoom to check the accuracy of the focus. In addition the camera also has an electronic shutter is designed to reduce mechanical shake and Nikon also added Capture NX-D software app to reduce image noise.
