New iPad 2018 Up for Pre-Order in USA: Price, Release Date, and More

Apple on Tuesday at the Creative Education event in Chicago has introduced a new iPad 2018 – an entry-level 9.7-inch iPad and it also supports the Apple Pencil stylus. The new iPad 2018 is powered by the A10 Fusion chip which is used on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. It features familiar hardware and sports a 9.7-inch Retina display.

New iPad 2018 Pre-Order Price and Availability

In the US, the new iPad 2018 Pre-order has been started via BHPhotovideo store, starting at $329 for 32GB, Wi-Fi only model. The 32GB iPad 2018 Wi-Fi + 4G LTE model has been priced at $459, 128GB with WiFi only model has been priced at $429, while the 128GB iPad (2018) Wi-Fi + 4G LTE model has been priced at $559. It comes in Silver, Gold, and Space Gray color variants.

New iPad 2018 Specifications

New Apple iPad (2018) is essentially the same as the iPad (2017), which was launched almost exactly a year ago. The biggest difference is that it runs on the Apple A10 Fusion SoC – a significant upgrade over the Apple A9 SoC. To refresh other specifications, the iPad (2018) has a 9.7-inch Retina (2048×1536 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 264ppi and as we mentioned, support for the Apple Pencil is the addition on the display front. As before, RAM and battery specifications have not been detailed by Apple.

Sensors on board include the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the Home Button, apart from an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, and a 3-axis gyroscope.

New iPad 9.7 features 32.4-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery that is rated to provide up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music time. For connectivity includes, 4G LTE (optional), WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac); dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and HT80 with MIMO, and Bluetooth 4.2 options. It measures 240 x 169.5 x 7.5mm and weighs 469g (WiFi) / 478g (WiFi + Cellular).
