Along with the Honor Note 8 phablet, Huawei also announced the affordable Honor 5 smartphone in the China. It is the latest budget smartphone device from the company in the Honor series, which also known as Honor Play 5 for the International market. The Huawei Honor 5 price in China is set to CNY 599 – approximately $90 USD and it is available in Black, White and Gold color variants. It will go on sale via online store in China starting from 2nd August.
The Huawei Honor 5 features a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor that’s fueled by 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P chipset clubbed with Mali-T720 GPU. The device packs in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB with the help of microSD card slot.

On the camera front, the handset has an 8-megapixel primary autofocus camera on the back with dual LED flash. There is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with front LED flash to capture bright selfies and high quality video chatting. The device also features a “Easy Key” button on the left side which can be assigned to open various apps quickly by long press, single press to launch camera, double press for flashlight, and much more.
The Honor 5 Phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Huawei Emotion UI 3.1 Lite interface on top, which can be further updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS in the near future. It packs a 2200mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 165 hours of standby and up to 10 hours of talk time. It has a dual SIM card slot on board along with 4G VoLTE connectivity, apart from 4G includes 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, microUSB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio connectivity options. It measures 143.8 x 72 x 8.9 mm and weighs 138 grams.
