Unveiling the DJI Osmo Action 4: 4K 120fps and Improved Low-Light Performance

DJI has unveiled its latest-generation action camera, boasting support for 4K 120fps shooting, an expansive 155-degree field of view, and enhanced low-light performance. This DJI new action cam is set to rival the previously released GoPro 11.

In comparison to its predecessor, the new DJI action cam features an upgraded sensor. The Osmo Action 4 employs a CMOS sensor with a 1/1.3-inch optical format, offering pixel sizes of 2.4 µm. This enhancement should significantly improve low-light shooting capabilities.

The optics of the DJI Osmo Action 4 remain consistent, with an aperture of F/2.8 and a wide 155-degree viewing angle. The camera maintains two touch-sensitive displays, strategically placed on opposite sides of the device’s body.

Capable of recording videos with 10-bit color and D-Log M mode, this camera facilitates deeper color correction during post-production. Moreover, the proprietary HorizonSteady stabilization system ensures steady footage even during fast-paced action. The camera includes a unique magnetic locking mechanism to swiftly switch between horizontal and vertical formats.

For added versatility, the camera comes with a horizontal-vertical protective frame that accommodates both horizontal (standard) and vertical (portrait) modes. This frame offers multiple attachment options, such as a quick-release adapter mount, a surface-adhesive curved base, a screw and anti-slip pad, and a lens hood with a USB-C PD fast charging cable.

In addition to the camera itself, DJI introduces supplementary accessories to expand the potential of the new Osmo Action 4 action camera. These accessories encompass a GPS controller, a glass lens cap, and a set of neutral plane filters.

The DJI Osmo Action 4 is available in two combo options: Standard and Adventure.

The Standard Combo includes a camera and a set of accessories. The Extreme battery lasts longer than standard batteries and can withstand low temperatures. It can be pre-ordered from Bhphotovideo.com, Amazon.com, Adorama.com, Amazon.co.uk for $399 / £379.
