Cosina Voigtlander NOKTON 40mm F1.2 Aspherical RF for Canon

Cosina has announced a new high-aperture manual prime lens for Canon RF cameras called the Voigtlander NOKTON 40mm F1.2 Aspherical RF. This lens, which is the second NOKTON lens for Canon full-frame mirrorless cameras, combines old optical traditions with modern technology.

With its compact size and F/1.2 aperture, the Voigtlander 40mm F1.2 Canon RF lens allows for the creation of a beautiful and smooth blur effect. It covers a full-frame sensor and is specifically designed for Canon’s RF system sensor.

The lens features eight elements in six groups, including two double-sided aspherical lenses, ensuring optimal image quality. It also includes a contact group for transmitting Exif data and supporting other functions.

A convenient switching mechanism enables the aperture to be adjusted from 1/3 click steps to a stepless setting, providing a silent operation. The lens communicates with Canon bodies via electronic contacts, offering features like Exif information and 3-axis image stabilization. It also supports three focus functions: magnification, focus peaking, and focus guidance.
