The Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 presents itself in a slightly modernized design with a handle that flows more smoothly into the housing and has fewer buttons. The case comes in Lilac Purple, Clay White, Pastel Blue, Blossom Pink, and Mint Green colors.

The range of functions is practically identical to that of the previous model. The Instax Mini 12 again offers a small mirror on the lens, which should make it easier to choose the correct image section for selfies. The fixed focus lens can, as usual, focus on all objects that are at least 50 centimeters away from the film.

With the “macro” mode, objects at a distance of between 30 and 50 centimeters can also be displayed sharply. What is new is that this is no longer activated by a button, but by turning the lens.

Turning the lens also turns the camera on and off. The camera has a 60mm f/12.7 lens with only two lens elements and a small optical viewfinder with a magnification of 0.37x. The exposure parameters are selected fully automatically, and the flash cannot be deactivated, but the automatic flash should at least react better to the ambient light than with the Instax Mini 11. The camera is powered by two AA batteries and should take around 100 photos to be able to record.
