Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A ELMB Sync Monitor with QHD and 180Hz

Asus has recently unveiled its latest gaming monitor, the TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A. This 27-inch monitor boasts an IPS panel with WQHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels), offering a refresh rate of up to 180Hz and HDR10 support. However, with a specified brightness of only 250 cd/m² (typ.), it’s important to keep realistic expectations regarding HDR performance.

The datasheet indicates a 1 ms gray change, 8-bit color depth, 130 percent sRGB, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. The monitor’s power consumption stands at 35 watts, which could be optimized with a more practical brightness setting. The built-in speakers, rated at 2 watts each, may only serve for system sounds.

To prevent tearing, FreeSync Premium and G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync technologies are employed. The ELMB Sync functionality combines these technologies to reduce motion blur effectively. Additional gaming features include a black stabilizer, an fps display, crosshair overlays, and variable overdrive.

As for connectivity, the monitor comes with two HDMI 2.0 inputs (WQHD at max. 144 Hz), a DisplayPort 1.4 (WQHD at max. 180 Hz), and a headphone output. However, it lacks USB ports. The monitor offers tilt and rotation adjustments, along with VESA mount compatibility (100 x 100 mm), a blue light filter, and a flicker-free backlight.

The dimensions of the VG27AQ3A are 615 x 367 x 54 mm (W x H x D), and it weighs 3.6 kg without the stand.
