After the availability of the Astell & Kern SP2000 A&ultima Vegas Gold High-Resolution Music Player, Astell & Kern has just introduced the latest DAC High Definition audio player in the A&norma mid-range music player series called Astell and Kern A&norma SR25 Bluetooth sound system.
Compared to the previous generation SR15, the Astell and Kern SR25 model is upgraded with audio processing capabilities, a more powerful CPU, and more than doubled battery life up to 21 hours. A&norma ‘s easily identifiable feature is its unique tilt display and compact design. It has a 3.6-inch IPS HD touch screen display. The SR25’s housing is also made of precision machined aluminum in every 5-axis to minimize impulse noise from the environment. To distinguish between SR25 and SR15, you can base on the color SR25 in silver and SR15 in dark gray.
As for DAC – digital to analog converter, SR25 still uses Cirrus Logic CS43198 DUAL DAC similar to SR15. However, the more powerful CPU makes it possible for the SR25 to completely decode native 32bit / 384kHz and DSD256 formats without having to downsample to 24 bits like other music players. The product will also support decoding MQA format.
Astell & Kern SR25 digital to analog audio converter uses a custom operating system based on Android 9.0 along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. Users can install streaming music service applications such as Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, and more via APK on Open App Services. It has 64GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot supporting up to 1TB.
Compared to the previous generation, the SR25 is equipped with a performance mode that can optimize memory and processing capabilities for the best sound quality. The SR25 balanced audio PCB has been completely redesigned, improving background noise filtering and lower distortion than previous-generation music players. The AK SR25 will still have a single-ended 3.5mm port and a balanced 2.5mm.
Astell & Kern SR25 analog to digital converter also equipped with an LDAC codec for better Bluetooth playback quality than its previous players. And finally, the most outstanding upgrade of the SR25 is the battery life up to 21 hours continuously, more than double compared to its previous digital to analog converter box.
