The Shenyang Zhongyi Optical & Electronic Co., Ltd., also known under the name Zhong Yi Optics, has introduced four cine lenses with luminous intensity T.1.0 with different camera connections under the name “Mitakon Speedmaster”. Including 17mm and 25mm with MFT mount, 35mm with Canon RF, Fujifilm X, Sony E, and also Micro Four Thirds connection as well as 50mm for full format 35mm sensors with Canon EF and Arri PL mount. ZY calls these four lenses the first cine lenses with this speed.

The focal lengths 17mm, 25mm, and 35mm with MFT mount are ideal for Panasonic’s GH5, Z-Cam E2, and Pocket4k. The 35mm lens has illumination for Super35 and is supplied in addition to an MFT version with a Canon RF, Sony E, and Fuji X mount. The 50mm lens is designed for KB full format and EF/PL cine cameras. It is the brightest lens for PL mount cameras like Arri Alexa LF and Red Monstro. The high light intensity of T1.0 allows the main subject to be detached from its background.

The same filter diameter and the same position of the aperture and distance setting ring for the three focal lengths 17, 25, and 35 mm make it easier to use a motor for focusing and a matte box. Due to the internal focusing, the dimensions of these lenses remain constant. The 50mm lens designed for 35mm full format has different dimensions. The 35mm T1.0 with Canon RF connector is the first of its kind on the market to offer full sensor coverage for Red Komodo and Canon C70 cinema cameras.

Price and availability

The focal lengths 17mm, 25mm, and 35mm are now available to buy from Amazon.com at $449. The50 mm lens should be available at the end of June 2021.
