The Chinese company Zhiyun-Tech has announced a three new electronic Handheld Video Stabilizer for heavy cameras: Zhiyun Crane 3S, Crane 3S Pro, and Crane 3S-E.
Zhiyun Crane 3S stabilizer is able to work with large-sized cameras, which are often related to the movie segment. It has a special expandable 55° angled roll axis that allows you to fit your camera without blocking the view, and it is also modular so you can add an included extension arm to fit larger cameras.
It can also accommodate a wide range of camera sizes by utilizing a separately available extension module to extend the horizontal arm. In addition, the video stabilizer is equipped with a detachable angled, ergonomic handle that provides two-handed operation for optimal stabilization. The handle enables you to seamlessly switch to underslung mode, whether with one or two hands and achieve creative shots such as 330° roll shots as you move closer toward a subject.
The manufacturer reports that the stabilizing body has a large number of threaded holes for mounting various equipment: a motorized trolley, camera crane, cable suspension, Easyrig video kit, and others. Another major feature of the gimbal is a redesigned axis latch lock system consisting of a separate latch lock on each axis that provides solid locking in place without excess sway.
The new Zhiyun Crane 3S has an external power connector (25.2 V DC). The TransMount PowerPlus Battery Pack holds up to six 18650 batteries and provides extended battery life (up to 18 hours), and can also act as a power source for other devices. Conventional battery life is up to 12 hours.
In addition, the new video stabilizer has an integrated ViaTouch 2.0 system. With it, you can connect your smartphone to the stabilizer, and control both the camera settings and the stabilizes settings in real-time.
