Asus is launching a new portable 4K monitor that serves dual purposes: it displays content from external devices and also functions as a Smart TV. The Asus ZenScreen MS27UC features a high resolution, making it versatile for various applications.

The 27-inch portable display truly lives up to the term “smart,” blending monitor and television functions. Although it doesn’t support cable-based linear TV, it provides easy access to streaming services like Amazon Prime and Apple TV+.
As linear TV becomes less relevant, the compact 27-inch MS7UC works well as a TV replacement, especially for smaller living spaces. With Google TV integration, Asus ensures simple and convenient app installation.
The 4K USB-C display offers sharp visuals with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. However, it’s not specifically designed for gaming, as it features a 60 Hz refresh rate and a 5-millisecond gray-to-gray response time. The IPS panel reportedly covers 99% of the sRGB color space, and its maximum brightness reaches 400 cd/m² when displaying HDR content, which is also its peak brightness.
Asus ZenScreen MS27UC includes DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and USB Type-C, with the latter supporting image transmission and providing up to 90 watts of power to connected devices via USB PD. The USB hub features two USB 2.0 Type-A ports. Wireless image transmission is also supported, and the monitor has built-in 5-watt speakers with Harman Kardon technology. It can be tilted and adjusted in height, and a VESA mount (100 x 100 millimeters) is available.
Asus ZenScreen MS27UC price and availability
The ZenScreen Smart Monitor MS27UC might already be familiar to attentive readers, and it’s now becoming more widely available. This 4K USB-C display is currently listed on Amazon for around $450, though broader availability for this new Ultra HD portable screen may still be limited.
Asus has launched the ZenScreen Fold OLED MQ17QH portable monitor, originally announced earlier this year. This model provides a large, travel-friendly work surface with outstanding color accuracy. The 17.3-inch display offers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,920 pixels, and Asus has priced it at $2,199.
