Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T With 6.39-inch FHD+ Display, Quad Rear Camera, SD 665 Announced

After the success of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, as well as the announcement of the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi 8A smartphones in USA, now the Chinese giant has expanded its Redmi Note series with the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T in Europe. It is mid-budget device comes with a 6.39-inch waterdrop notch display, 4GB RAM, Quad Rear Cameras and fingerprint sensor.

Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T price in Europe has been set at from EUR 199 – approximately $220 for the 4GB RAM with a 64GB storage version. The device will be available from November 8th in Spain and Italy and will be available in France from November 13th and in Germany from November 15th. It will also be available in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg soon. The handset comes in Moonshadow Grey, Starscape Blue, and Moonlight White color options.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T Specifications

The Redmi Note 8T features a 6.39-inch 2.5D curved glass Waterdrop notch LCD display with FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 90% screen-to-body ratio, TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor supported by Snapdragon 665 11nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 610 GPU and 4GB LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB storage with expandable memory up to 256GB with microSD.

On the camera front, the 8T bears a quad rear camera setup: a 48-megapixel main camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, 6P lens, PDAF, EIS, 4-in-1 pixel binning for low-light shots, f/1.79 aperture, 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide-angle lens with 1.12μm pixel size, 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor for 2cm macro shots with 1.75μm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture and Dual LED Flash. For selfie, there is a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

The Note 8T comes with an improved speaker with a 40% better output compared to the predecessor, smart PA, nano mesh with the nanoscale filament for patented automatic cleaning of dust. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is 30% smaller than the Redmi Note 7, but it unlocks faster.

The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 out of the box. It packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. For connectivity includes Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, Micro USB. The device measures 164.4×75.6×9.3mm and weighs 198 grams.
