Xiaomi India looked to catch up with the latest trend in the smartphone industry by showcasing two new 18:9 FullView display smartphone – Xiaomi Redmi 5 in India. Xiaomi’s FullView smartphone has a higher screen-to-body ratio compared to the company’s other Redmi series devices.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 price in India starts from Rs. 7,999 for 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage version, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage model costs Rs. 8,999, and a variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for Rs. 10,999. The device will be available exclusively from Amazon.in store starting March 20th, 2018.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 FullView display with 2.5D curved glass layer with 450 nits Brightness, 72% NTSC Color Gamut, and 1000:1 Contrast Ratio. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Octa-Core processor that fueled by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 14nm chipset clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU. It packs a 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
On the camera front, the Redmi 5 flaunts a 12-megapixel primary autofocus camera with 1.25μm pixel size, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and also paired with front LED flash for better low light photography. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 also comes equipped with a rear fingerprint sensor to unlock the device along with the Infrared sensor.
The handset runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat -based on MIUI 9 out of the box. It packs a 3300mAh battery and supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ ac, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, micro USB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack options.
