Xiaomi has released a flagship camera phone in the once-budget Poco series. The Poco F7 Ultra model received the latest generation Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a discrete VisionBoost D7 graphics chip (12 nm). It supports watching YouTube and Netflix in HDR on a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3200 × 1440 pixels. The AI-powered smartphone features a 50MP primary camera based on the OmniVision OV50E sensor (optical format 1 / 1.5 inch). The Poco F7 Ultra UK price starts at £599 for Prime members.

Smartphones of the Poco series have always been considered budget solutions; however, in such cases, they have only been available for a while.
Gradually, the company strengthened the brand, added technical improvements, and increased the price tag. And now, we have reached the moment of the release of the Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra model. Let’s start, of course, with the camera.
Flagship Camera System
The Poco F7 Ultra’s primary camera has a resolution of 50 MP. It is based on the Light Fusion 800 sensor (OmniVision OV50E with 1 μm pixels). The optics have an aperture of F/1.6 and optical image stabilization.
Interestingly, the proprietary camera application has “switches” for several focal lengths, such as 35mm and 48mm, which work based on the main module. In addition, you can record 8K 24 fps video on the primary sensor and the other two.
The second module comprises a 50 MP sensor with telephoto optics that support 2.5x (60 mm) optical and 5x (120 mm) hybrid zoom and macro shooting capabilities. The telephoto module is indicated to work with a “floating” group of lenses, allowing you to take pictures without losing quality with 5x zoom.
The third module has a 120-degree viewing angle and a 32 MP sensor. The front camera has a 32 MP resolution and supports recording in 1080p 60 fps.
In addition, many users are increasingly wondering about the French lab’s smartphone testing methods. The new Xiaomi 15 Ultra took only 15th place in the rating, losing to seemingly much less advanced (and cheaper) devices.
Powerful Hardware and AI Processing
The hardware uses the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Theoretically, it should provide the highest performance of the smartphone, including video editing (for example, in CapCut).
It also enhances photo processing and gaming performance.
An essential addition is that the Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra is the first to use a discrete graphics chip, VisionBoost D7, built using a 12nm process technology.

The new AI-powered smartphone supports a Smart Frame Rate of 120 fps, 2K Super Resolution, and Game HDR technologies. These features improve mobile games’ performance, smoothness, and image quality.
It also features Dual-core Visuals technology, which improves image quality and supports HDR content for YouTube and Netflix.
The new Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra runs on the Android 15 operating system with the proprietary Xiaomi HyperOS 2 shell. Notably, this shell supports HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI technologies. As a result, these technologies work together to ensure smooth device operation, enhance platform compatibility, and improve the efficiency of the Google Gemini AI assistant.
Immersive Display
The smartphone features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 3200×1440 resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3200 cd/m², a maximum brightness of 1800 cd/m², and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
Tempered glass Poco Shield Glass protects the screen, and the manufacturer claims it is the most durable ever used in Poco smartphones.
Storage & Battery
The Poco F7 Ultra comes with 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of storage. The manufacturer said the Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra smartphone is “ not just a gaming device,” as the gadget can also function as an advanced camera phone. It has the most advanced system ever developed by Poco.
The 5,300 mAh battery supports 120 W fast charging, replenishing the battery from zero in just 34 minutes. Plus, there is a 50 W wireless system.
Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra UK Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra smartphone with 16/512 GB costs £699. However, an Amazon UK Prime Exclusive deal will reduce it to £599.
