Xiaomi Mix with True 6.4-inch bezel-less display, 6GB RAM, Launched

Xiaomi had finally unveiled the Mi Note 2 smartphone today after many leaks and speculations. Additionally, the company also hints the Xiaomi Mix – a concept smartphone will have an all top display, with no sensors or front camera on top, giving it a very different look from the current models in the market.  Xiaomi Mi Mix

Xiaomi had hosted an event in China at the Peking University Gymnasium on Tuesday, where they unvieled Mi Mix, the future of the smartphone, the handset with a minimal bezels is really possible. Separately, a few photos of the Xiaomi Mix have been introduced by the company at the event, which show that the Xiaomi Mi Mix has a very thin bezel on all four sides. The bottom chin usually used for navigation buttons, and the top part used for front camera as well as sensors are not seen in these images, and the Mi Mix instead sports an edge-to-edge display. The images also show the smartphone running MIUI OS, adding more credibility.

The Xiaomi Mix features a 6.4-inch display with 2040 x 1080 pixels resolution, it boasts of 91.3 percent screen to body ratio, 17:9 aspect ratio, high brightness up to 500nits, up to 94% NTSC color gamut, and 1300:1 contrast ratio. For sensors, the device uses all new ultrasonic technology and Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic system instead of a standard earpiece, allowing you to listen to calls without the earpiece, means you get much better user experience around the same size devices.  xiaomi mix

Coming to Xiaomi Mi Mix specifications, the smartphone is said to be powered by a 2.35 quad-core processor that is fueled by Snapdragon 821 64-bit chipset clubbed with Adreno 530 GPU. For optics, it has a 16-megapixel primary autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, dual-tone LED flash, and able to record 4K videos. There is a custom-made 5-megapixel front-facing camera below the screen, which is 50 percent smaller than a standard camera sensor. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back panel below the rear camera.

The Mi Mix runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and packs a 4400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. For connectivity, includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5 GHz) MU-MIMO, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, USB-C, and NFC options.

Lastly, the Xiaomi Mix is to come in 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 256GB storage bundles and be priced at Yuan 3,499 – approximately $516 USD or 34,530 INR, and Yuan 3,999 – approximately $590 USD or 39,470 INR.
