Xiaomi has added another smart TV model of its MI TV series in its home market: Xiaomi Mi TV 4S complete with voice control, enhanced audio, and a thin design.
The new Mi TV 4S model sports a 55-inch 4K HDR display and also comes with thin bezels and smart TV features at affordable prices compared to Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4A range, which was launched in India just 2 weeks ago.
The new Xiaomi Mi TV 4S 55-inch model has direct type backlight, 4K (3840 x 2160 pixel) resolution, 178-degree wide viewing angle, and 8ms dynamic response. Connectivity suite of the new TV consists of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4 / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 + LE, 2x USB, 3x HDMI, AV, and Ethernet. It has two 8W speakers with Dolby and DTS enhancements.
Coming to the key features, the new Mi TV 4S 55-inch model supports voice control, so buyers can use the remote with built-in mic to give commands such as “shut down after 10 minutes,” or “fast forward to 54 minutes and 21 seconds” to control certain functions without pressing a single button. It is based on the Android-Based Patchwall UI that the company uses in its other TVs.
As for the specifications, the new Mi TV 4S model packs the 64-bit 1.5GHz Amlogic Cortex-A53 quad-core processor and 750MHz Mali 450 MP3 GPU with 2GB RAM and comes with 8GB of internal storage. For content, there is support for HDR 10 and HLG, H.264, H.265, Real, MPEG1/2/4, WMV3, and VC-1. In China, the new model is priced at CNY 2,999 – approximately $476.
