Xiaomi Mi Note 3 With Dual Rear Cameras, 16MP Selfie Shooter and SD 660 Announced

Along with the Mi Mix 2, the Xiaomi company also announced the Mi Note 3 smartphone successor of the Mi Note 2, but design wise quite similar to the Mi 6. Compared to Mi 6’s design point of view, it does not change anything, both the front and the rear look exactly same, but now comes with the larger 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution with a maximum brightness of 550 nits as well as dual rear camera setup.

The key highlight of the device is its dual rear camera setup: there is a dual 12-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual rear camera sensor with 4-axis OIS and offers 2X optical zoom, which is similar camera setup as the Mi 6, Mi 5X, and Mi A1 smartphones. The rear camera also features Portrait mode and provides DSLR-like bokeh effect.

For selfie, here we have 16-megapixel selfie shooter, so huge upgrade on the front of the device compared to previous gen. with the same 5-megapixel selfie cameras. There is also Face Detection System, and fingerprint reader embedded into the front panel. The device is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor that uses the custom Kryo 260 cores clocked up to 2.2GHz. It comes coupled with Adreno 512 GPU and will be available in three variants without MicroSD card slot support.

Coming to the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 price, the company has provided three variants starting at CNY 2,499 – approximately $383 for 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, CNY 2,899 – approximately $465 for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model in Black color variant and CNY 2999 – approximately $460 for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant in Blue color. The handset will be available for purchase in China starting from September 12th.
