The Xiaomi Mi MIX3 has been officially launched in China. It is mid-high range smartphone comes with a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 93.4% screen-to-body ratio, magnetic slider design for a front camera, Snapdragon 845 and up to 10GB of RAM.
Xiaomi Mi MIX3 Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi MIX3 price in China starts from CNY 3,299 – approximately $474 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version, the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs CNY 3,599 – approximately $518, while CNY 3,999 – approximately $575 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model, and the flagship 10GB RAM with 256GB storage variant as the Special Edition called “The Palace Museum” costs CNY 4,999 – approximately $719. It will go on sale in China from November 1, 2018. The handset comes in Onyx Black, Jade Green, and Sapphire Blue color options.
Xiaomi Mi MIX3 Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi MIX3 features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 103.8% NTSC Color Gamut, 600 nits brightness, 60000:1 contrast ratio and 93.4% screen-to-body ratio, which is reduced by 4.46mm compared to the Mi MIX 2S. It also has a customized antenna design so the antenna space is reduced by 72%.
It has a magnetic slider design with neodymium permanent magnets, making the sliding screen more reliable and functional. You can answer a call, take a selfie, open the shortcuts drawer and do more just by sliding up. You can also personalize the sound of the screen sliding with five different sounds. The company says that the slider will last for 300,000 cycles.
The handset is powered by a 2.8 GHz octa-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 845 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB LPDDR4x of RAM with 128GB storage / 8GB LPDDR4x of RAM with 128GB / 256GB storage, and 10GB LPDDR4x of RAM with 256GB storage. It has support for Google ARCore and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with support for AI voice assistant as well as a dedicated AI button to launch it.
On the camera front, the Mi MIX3 flaunts a 12-megapixel rear camera with 6mm wide-angle lens, 1/2.6″ Sony IMX363 sensor, 1.4µm pixel size, 4-axis OIS, f/1.8 aperture, Dual Pixel autofocus, Optical zoom, 4K video recording, 960 fps slo-mo recording, dual LED flash and a secondary 12-megapixel telephoto lens with Samsung S5K3M3+ sensor for AI portraits, 1.0 µm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture, 2X zoom, AI scene recognition and loss-less zoom.
For selfie, there is a 24-megapixel front camera with Sony IMX576 sensor, Super Pixel low-light technology, 4-in-1 Super Pixel, and secondary 2-megapixel DOF OV02A10 sensor, 4K video recording 960fps slow-motion video recording and customized high CRI selfie light. It also comes with Steady handheld night photography for better low-light images.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX3 has a ceramic back, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and packs a 3200mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging as well as 10W wireless charging, and comes with the wireless charger in the box. The company said that Mi MIX 3 5G will launch in Q1 2019. The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based on MIUI 10 out of the box.
It supports Dual SIM slot with dual standby and for connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac MU-MIMO, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5, and USB C. The device measures 157.89x 74.69x 8.46mm and weighs 218 grams.
