M-Audio BX3BT and BX4BT Studio Monitors now with Bluetooth

M-Audio introduces the two new wireless computer speakers BX3BT and BX4BT, which are offered as multimedia monitor audio speakers. When the word “multimedia” comes up, it usually means that mixing and mastering is not the primary concern, but rather podcasting, live streaming, or maybe video editing. In addition to inputs for jack and cinch, there is also support for Bluetooth for this purpose.

The name might ring in your ears. If so, here’s the solution: The new studio monitor speakers are an upgraded version of the BX3, and BX4 released in 2020 (starting from $100 on Amazon). Kevlar woofers with a size of 3.5 or 4.5 inches, depending on the model, and 1-inch silk dome tweeters are still included. That also applies to the two EQ switches on the back for any room adjustments. And so that listening to music is also fun, you will find bass reflex tubes in the back of the MDF housing as usual. The amplifier delivers an output of 120 watts – that has also remained the same.

Sockets for 6.35 mm jack and cinch are available as connections, and there is also an aux input for a small stereo jack on the front. Of course, the biggest difference compared to the predecessors is the addition of Bluetooth, the pairing is done on the front, as is the volume control. With the two desktop computer speakers, you not only create podcasts and make a few beats on them but also listen to them without much effort via smartphone, tablet, and all sorts of other Bluetooth sources.

So that budding content creators can get started right away, M-Audio again adds a few software downloads to the scope of delivery. From AKAI there is MPC Beats, a simple DAW that is particularly geared towards beat making. There are already a few instruments, loops, grooves, one-shot samples, and effects included, with Hybrid 3, Mini Grand, and Velvet from AIR Music Technology, there is additional sound fodder.
