A distinctive feature of the new drives will be that they will be bundled with a download code for the Standard Edition of Battlefield 2042 PC, which can be used no earlier than October 22, when the game will officially launch. Before Battlefield 2042 becomes available, owners of the new drive will have access to exclusive content associated with it.

In terms of specifications, the new gaming SSD will provide sequential read speeds of up to 3600 MB/s. The 500 GB model has a write speed of 2000 MB/s, while the 1 TB model is declared to write at up to 2830 MB/s. The speed of random reading and writing of new products is from 340 to 525 thousand IOPS and from 480 to 640 thousand IOPS, respectively, depending on the model.

Price and availability

You can pre-order the new WD_Black SN750 SE Battlefield 2042 SSD drive now from the Amazon.com and the Bhphotovideo.com stores, pricing starts from $114.99 for the 500GB, and $179.99 for the 1TB storage model.

Please note that Battlefield 2042 will not be available for download until October 22, 2021. However, you can use the code on October 21 to take advantage of pre-order benefits, which are available on EA’s site. Lastly, the Gaming Mode will be available in late summer 2021.

Recently, Seagate has also introduced a limited edition M.2 NVMe SSD, which is particularly noticeable due to its extremely idiosyncratic design – as the Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition, the Seagate FireCuda 520 1TB Solid State Drive not only comes with a yellow heat sink with a Cyberpunk logo but also with RGB lighting, and is priced at $229.99.
