OnePlus Buds Z2 with ANC and long battery life for only $100

OnePlus introduced its latest true wireless waterproof earbuds: OnePlus Buds Z2, which can attenuate annoying noise by active noise cancellation (ANC) by up to 40 dB, and at an attractive price of $99.99.

The OnePlus Buds Z of the first generation (approx. $40 on Amazon) already offered an exciting price-performance ratio, but you had to do without active noise Noise cancelling. The OnePlus Buds Z2 is now improving exactly that: The true wireless earphones are a bit more expensive, but the manufacturer promises particularly effective noise suppression.

With the help of three microphones, disturbing ambient noise is to be attenuated by a full 40 dB, but as usual, it should depend on the pitch of the noises how effectively they are suppressed. A transparency mode is also part of the equipment. 11-millimeter drivers, in combination with Dolby Atmos, are supposed to provide a particularly spatial sound.

An IP55 certification promises protection against sweat and rain, the charging case at least has an IPX4 certification. The manufacturer also promises an extremely long battery life of 38 hours, but this is only achieved without ANC and in connection with the charging case. The earphones themselves manage five hours of music playback with ANC. The true wireless waterproof earbuds are rounded off by a touch-sensitive surface for controlling playback and Bluetooth 5.2 with a latency of only 94 ms, at least in connection with selected OnePlus smartphones.

Talking about the same price segment, Sony has also introduced the WF-C500 true wireless Bluetooth earbuds with a few exciting features, like a colorful housing, a partially transparent charging case, IPX4 certified, 10 hours of playback time, a touch-sensitive surface, but lack of active noise cancellation (ANC) or Sony’s high-quality LDAC codec.
