Wacom launches Cintiq Pro 27 with a 120 Hz 4K touch panel, professional stylus, and narrower screen bezels

With the Cintiq Pro 27, Wacom has introduced its latest touch panel monitor for creative professionals. The touch display offers convincing specs with 4K resolution, a frame rate of 120 Hz, and HDR support. Despite the high price, the associated stand is sold separately.

The brand new Wacom Cintiq Pro 27 is offered as a significantly more expensive but also better-equipped alternative to the Cintiq Pro 24 (approx. $2,500 on Amazon). The new touch panel monitor relies on an IPS panel with a diagonal of 27 inches, full 4K resolution, and a frame rate of 120 Hz. The brightness is rather average at 400 nits, after all the DCI-P3 color space can be displayed at 98 percent.

The design has been fundamentally revised, and the extremely wide screen edges of older models of the Cintiq Pro series are history, but a total of eight programmable buttons have also been moved to the back of the screen. If you want better button positioning, Wacom offers the ExpressKey remote control (approx. $85 on Amazon) or a Loupedeck CT (approx. $500 on Amazon).

The1 accompanying stand, sold separately, allows the screen to be tilted sharply, which should make it more comfortable to draw on. Because using the supplied Wacom Pro Pen 3 is still the most important purpose for the monitor. The stylus recognizes pressure in 8,192 levels and an inclination of up to 60 degrees, the ergonomics can be adjusted with rubber attachments and different tips. The connection to the computer is made either via mini-DisplayPort, HDMI 2.1, or USB-C.
