Voigtlander 90mm F2.8 Apo-Skopar for Leica M, and Nikon F

Cosina has introduced two new manual photography lenses. These are: Voigtlander 90mm F2.8 Apo-Skopar SLⅡs and Voigtländer 90mm F2.8 Apo-Skopar VM.

The first lens, the 90mm F2.8 Apo-Skopar SLⅡs, is designed for full-frame Nikon F mount cameras (SLR cameras). It is made of durable metal parts.

The Voigtlander lens is created using the latest optical technologies, which, according to the manufacturer, allow you to achieve an image quality that is unattainable with zoom lenses. The lens uses a new optical formula, according to which 5 of the 7 lens elements are anomalous partially dispersed glass.

At the same time, the 90mm F2.8 Apo-Skopar SLⅡs lens has a high image quality due to the apochromatic design of the optics. The manufacturer calls the optical formula revolutionary. Chromatic aberration is close to zero.

The lens turned out to be quite light and compact. The manufacturer says the lens is a continuation of a lineup of lenses: Nokton 58mm F1.4 SLIIs, Ultron 40mm F2 Aspherical SLs, and 28mm F2.8 Color-skopar Aspherical SLⅡs.

The lens weighs 260 grams. Focus rings and lens diaphragms are made of metal. The angle of view of the 90mm F2.8 Apo-Skopar SLⅡs lens is 27.5 degrees. The diaphragm is nine-bladed, and the filter diameter is 52mm.

The lens will ship in November 2021. The price of the lens in the Bhphotovideo.com store is $699.

The second lens is Voigtländer 90mm F2.8 Apo-Skopar VM. The manufacturer emphasizes its compactness combined with high performance. The lens is designed for full-frame M-mount cameras and has manual focusing. It (like the first lens) has a new optical formula with five elements with anomalous partial dispersion.

The manufacturer says that the lens produces a very sharp image. At the same time, chromatic aberrations were reduced to almost zero. The lens consists of 7 elements arranged in 7 groups.

The total weight of the lens is 250 grams. The diaphragm of the new optics is 10 blades and has a special shape. This aperture forms a circle not only at f/2.8 but also at f/4 and f/22.

This lens is designed for use with rangefinder digital and film cameras. It is equipped with a high-precision rangefinder locking mechanism. The minimum focusing distance is 0.9m. The lens filter diameter is 39 mm. The viewing angle is 27.4 degrees.

This lens, like the first one, will be delivered in November 2021. The price of the lens is $799, and it is also available to pre-order via the Bhphotovideo.com website.

Recently, Voigtlander has introduced the Heliar lens with a standard focal length of 50 mm is designed as a deliberate counterpart to today’s high-performance lenses in such a way that, with the aperture open, it shows a creative, classic image through an intentionally left aberration. It is a Lecia M mount lens, but with an adapter, it can also be used with Sony E-mount, Fujifilm X-mount, and Nikon Z-mount cameras, and is priced at $999.
