The Garmin Vivoactive 6 is here, bringing several exciting new features. This smart heart rate sports watch features a compact design, an AMOLED display, and an impressive eleven-day battery life. It also includes a smart watch fitness tracker heart rate monitor, a smart alarm clock, twice the storage, and a redesigned, thinner case.

Garmin has unveiled the successor to the Vivoactive 5 (approx. $214 / £185 on Amazon). While the smartwatch is slightly more expensive and only introduces a handful of new features, this is no April Fool’s joke. The Garmin watch for fitness tracking now features a subtly refined design. The case is 0.2 millimeters thinner, and one of the buttons is now round.
Garmin doubled the built-in memory to 8 GB to improve functionality, allowing more space for Garmin Connect apps and music. Among the notable new features, the smart alarm clock wakes users within a predefined time frame, ensuring they wake up during a lighter sleep phase. Garmin has expanded its range of activities. It now includes on-screen exercise animations for existing fitness apps and new workout options. These options feature horseback riding, mountaineering, archery, and daily recommended workouts—ideal for those following Garmin running workout plans.

With over 80 fitness apps, the Garmin Vivoactive 6 is a powerhouse for activity tracking. It includes a heart rate and SpO2 sensor to monitor heart rate variability and track stress levels, sleep quality, and the female cycle. As a Garmin watch for fitness tracking, it also supports contactless payments via Garmin Pay. It retains its AMOLED display within a 5 ATM water-resistant case, making it suitable for swimming. The battery life lasts up to eleven days with regular use, though enabling the always-on display reduces it to five days.
