Chinese company Vazen has introduced a new Vazen 28mm T2.2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount.
Vazen previously released the 40mm T2 1.8x, priced at $3,250, the second and most wide-angle of their 1.8-fold anamorphic composition of optics. The entire set will contain 3 focal lengths (28 mm, 40 mm and 65 mm), and it is expected that 65 mm will come out in a few months.
The new Vazen 28mm T2.2 1.8x weighs 720 grams, has a front diameter of 80 mm and a diameter for installing a 77 mm filter. The minimum focusing distance is 0.82 m.
Unlike 40 mm, the new Vazen 28 mm has a super compact and lightweight design. Weighing just 0.72 kg, it is currently the world’s lightest 1.8x anamorphic lens. The lens is made entirely of aluminum, and the independent aperture and focus rings have 0.8 type gears.
All Vazen anamorphic lenses provide an oily smooth oval bokeh, signature blue, but not too saturated horizontal flare and a wide-screen cinematic look. The lens provides outstanding sharpness even with a wide aperture, which is unparalleled in other anamorphic lenses with a similar compression ratio.
