UMIDIGI S With 5.5-inch Display, Dual Camera, Android 7 Announced

Last week, UMIDIGI introduced a new line of smartphones. The “S series” features a completely symmetrical casing and the use of high-quality materials in production. The UMIDIGI S price and sales have not been announced yet, but the manufacturer has already told about the specifications of the smartphone.

The UMIDIGI S features a 5.5-inch display produced by Sharp, a high-capacity battery, and the Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The device is made of a thin (7.98 mm) all-metal housing made, while the manufacturer made it completely symmetrical. A very large IGZO display with a Full HD resolution designed by the Japanese company Sharp. The display of the device as well as the entire front panel is covered with a tempered glass Corning Gorilla Glass 4. There is a fingerprint sensor combined with the front “Home” button.

On the back of the smartphone is a dual camera sensor, represented by Samsung with a 13-megapixels and 5-megapixels megapixels. There is also a dual LED flash and also supports 4K video recording.

For performance, the UMIDIGI S is powered by an energy efficient octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor with a clock speed of 2.3GHz, paired with Mali-T880 MP2 GPU with a frequency of 900 MHz. For multitasking, the device has 4GB of RAM, and 64GB storage with microSD card support up to 256GB. UMIDIGI S runs its own UMI OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat which also upgradable to Android 8.0.

Despite its minimalistic body, UMIDIGI also managed to add up to 4000mAh battery in the device. The manufacturer claims about 18 days of standby time. The smartphone also supports fast charging technology (18V) via USB Type-C connector.

UMIDIGI S will be available in two colors: Black and Gold. The pricing and selling time of the device will be announced in the near future.
