Ultimate Ears, a sub brand from the very known Logitech has officially launched the UE Roll 2 wireless Bluetooth speaker. It is 15% louder than its predecessor, the UE Roll and also comes with a longer wireless range of 30m (100 feet). It has a 360-degree waterproof design similar to UE Boom 2, which promises up to 9 hours of battery life.
The UE Roll 2 is available in four new vibrant color variants such as Atmosphere Blue, Reef Green, Sugerplum Pink and Volcano Black; and has been priced at only $99.99 and available for purchase via Amazon US store.
As mentioned above, Roll 2 has made no changes in its original design compared to its predecessor. The shape of the speaker also ensures that it produces a 360-degree sound that resonates in all directions. Roll 2 features a plasma-coated acoustic skin and also comes with an attached marine-grade bungee cord. It has IPX7 certified waterproof design, so can be immersed in water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes and is also drop proof, from up to five feet height.
The UE Roll 2 comes with up to 9 hours of battery life and has a wireless range of about 100 feet. It can take up to 5.5 hours to charge using the bundled Micro-USB cable. It can be paired with any other Ultimate Ears speaker to double the sound. It measures 135 x 40mm and weighs 330 grams, similar to its predecessor. The user can tap the speaker to play, pause or skip songs.
Inside it, the Roll 2 has one 2-inch driver and two small 3/4-inch tweeters and it operates in the frequency range of 108Hz to 20kHz, same as its predecessor, but differ in maximum sound level of 86dBA (older version has 84dBA), which essentially means that it cannot hit the sub-bass sounds, just like most other portable WiFi Bluetooth Speakers. 
The UE Roll 2 can be paired with up to 8 devices at one time, but can connect and play music with only two source devices at the same time. It can wirelessly stream music over Bluetooth 4.0 to two UE Rolls at the same time from a single source. There is a companion app available on both Android and iOS, and get easy wireless updates with new features like Block Party music sharing from 3 friends’ mobile devices.
