In May, Shenzhen Mingjiang Optical Technology introduced the TTArtisan Tilt-shift 100mm F2.8 Macro 2x lens, notable for its features and competitive pricing. A simplified version is now available—the TTArtisan 100mm F2.8 Macro 2x. It lacks tilt and shift functions but is more affordable, priced at $299.
This is the same manual lens, quite well made, in a full-metal body made of aluminum alloy. At the same time, the versions for different bayonets differ in size and design.
The optical design remains the same (14 elements in 10 groups, including six high-index elements), as do the MTF charts:
The lens offers 2x magnification, making it easy to explore the macro world. You can capture fine details, from the textures of insects to the intricate structures of plants.
This lens is designed for full-frame cameras. However, in medium format mode, it exhibits slight vignetting at a 2:1 ratio. Fortunately, this vignetting disappears at a 1:1 ratio.
The new TTArtisan 100mm F2.8 Macro 2x lens, like the previously released tilt-shift, comes with a convenient bracket for attaching a “cold shoe” to the lens body (there are special holes for this), which allows you to connect external devices, such as LED lighting.
The lens is designed for full-frame formats and, furthermore, is guaranteed by the manufacturer to support high-resolution shooting.
