The super expensive MSI Titan GT77 HX comes with a Core i9-13980HX, an RTX 4090 GPU, and a Mini LED 4K display

MSI announced the Titan GT77HX at CES 2023, which is now available for purchase. Measuring 397 x 330 x 23mm and weighing 3.3kg, a 17.3 UHD laptop is legitimately chunky. But that extra size is justified, as the MSI Titan GT77 HX will undoubtedly be in the running for the most powerful gaming laptop on the market with a Core i9-13980HX and up to an RTX 4090.

MSI has unveiled the new Titan GT77HX, a machine that sits at the top of the company’s gaming laptop stack. The laptop, which is effectively a desktop replacement, is packed to the brim with powerful hardware meant to maximize performance in games.

While the design of the Titan GT77HX is virtually identical to that of its predecessor, its internal components have been significantly improved. The laptop is now equipped with a 24-core Core i9-13980HX 24-core processor. MSI claims that with its OverBoost Ultra technology, the Core i9-13980HX’s 8 P-cores can reach a maximum boost frequency of 5.2 GHz with a total CPU + GPU power of 250 W. Complementing the new chip Intel, we find the latest GeForce RTX 40 mobile With the choice between an RTX 4080 or an RTX 4090.

Additionally, the MSI Titan GT77 HX has 4 DDR5 SO-DIMM slots for a total of 128 GB of memory and three M.2 slots. One of these three slots can accept a PCIe Gen 5 SSD, while the other two are relegated to PCIe Gen 4.

After the CPU and GPU, the Titan GT77 HX’s panel is perhaps the biggest draw. MSI uses a 4K Mini LED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a maximum brightness of 1000 nits. The screen is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified and has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. There’s also a front-facing webcam, which you can block with a hardware shutter, which supports Windows Hello IR facial recognition.

The Titan GT77HX also has plenty of ports. There’s a Thunderbolt 4 port with DisplayPort and another with DisplayPort and PowerDelivery, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a single HDMI 2.1, mini-DP, a 3.5mm combo jack, a single Ethernet port, and a slot for normal size SD card. It is equipped with a 99.99Wh battery and comes with a 330W adapter in the box.

The price of the MSI Titan GT77 HX is $4,299 for the version equipped with an RTX 4080, 16 GB of RAM, and a 2 TB SSD. The high-end version with an RTX 4090, 128 GB of RAM, and 4TB of SSD storage costs $5,299. The 17.3 UHD laptop can be purchased on Amazon.com, Newegg.com, and Amazon.co.uk online stores.
