Epson has announced EF-11, EF-12, and LS300W, three new smart projector models developed for use at home. Epson EF-11 and EF-12 are part of the EpiqVision Mini series and are characterized by very compact dimensions.
Epson EF-11 smart projector measures 175 x 65 x 175mm with a weight of 1.2 kilograms while the EF-12 occupies 175 x 135 x 175mm and weighs 2.1 kilograms. The basic technology is the same for both: we are talking about 3LCD with 0.62-inch panels at Full HD resolution. Epson declares that the screen size that can be filled ranges from 30 to 150 inches (given the brightness, however, it is good not to exaggerate).
The Laser light source guarantees a brightness of 1,000 lumens and a long life, estimated by Epson in about 10 years of operation. Both products have built-in speakers to reproduce the sound directly. The EF-11 has 1.5 W mono speakers. EF-12 raises the bar: the greater space occupied in height is used to house a well-finished Yamaha stereo audio system with two 5W speakers. If desired, you can also use a Bluetooth connection.
The two EpiqVision Mini smart projector can play video via HDMI (one input on EF-11 and two on EF-12) or via the supported multimedia functions. The EF-11 is equipped with Miracast and can replicate everything displayed on the screen of compatible devices. EF-12 instead integrates Android TV and all related applications, voice searches via Google Assistant, and Chromecast features.
The EH-LS300 is also based on 3LCD Full HD panel and is positioned below the EH-LS500 model. Unlike the other two models, it is equipped with ultra-short throw optics, capable of filling a 70-inch screen when the projector is positioned 40 centimeters away. The minimum size is 60-inch while the maximum achievable is 120-inch. The shooting ratio is 0.26 – 0.35: 1. The power of the light source also changes, reaching 3,600 lumens. The dimensions are much larger than the EpiqVision Mini: we are talking about 467 x 400 x 149 mm.
Even LS300 is based on Android TV and can directly play the audio through a Yamaha 2.1-channel system with two 5W speakers and a woofer 10 W.
