Lenovo recently introduced the ThinkPad P16v Gen 2, along with several other products. Notably, this workstation boasts an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor. Additionally, it offers up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, a 5 MP webcam, and an 800 cd/m² 4K+ display with 100% DCI-P3 color accuracy. In addition to the new processor generation, you can now upgrade to an RTX 3000 Ada, replacing the previous maximum of RTX 2000 Ada. However, aside from these updates, few changes have been made to the new ThinkPad laptop.
Lenovo has introduced three new 16-inch laptops along with a 14-inch ThinkPad in the mobile workstation category. Specifically, these new models include the ThinkPad P14s G5, the ThinkPad P1 G7, and the ThinkPad P16v G2. Notably, the ThinkPad P16v G2 stands out by offering up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and a maximum of 96 GB DDR5-5600 RAM. Additionally, as the most premium display option, it features an 800 cd/m² bright 4K+ panel with 100% DCI-P3 coverage.
Aside from the new processor generation and the optional Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 Ada, little has changed compared to the previous model. The ThinkPad P16v G1 featured a maximum RTX 2000 Ada GPU with a TGP of 45 watts. Lenovo hasn’t provided details on the current TGP, so it’s likely to be the same or similar.
The battery capacity remains similar at 90 Wh, and you can choose between FullHD or 5 MP webcams. However, WiFi 7 is not supported, but 4G LTE is available as an option.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P16v Gen 2 is finally available in Newegg.com, Amazon.com, and Bhphotovideo.com online stores at a starting price of $1,299.99.
