Lenovo introduced several mobile workstations. In addition to the new ThinkPad P1 G7, ThinkPad P16v G2, and ThinkPad P14s G5, there is also the ThinkPad P16s Gen 3. The partially soldered RAM is a thing of the past with the current generation of the P16s. Instead, it features two memory banks that support up to 96 GB of RAM. In addition, the ThinkPad is getting the new CPU generation with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, while the 4K OLED display option remains.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P16s G3 features the latest processor generation, including the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H. Additionally, it is worth noting that the partially soldered RAM from the previous model has been replaced. Instead, the new design includes two memory slots that support up to 96 GB.
The 400 cd/m² bright 4K OLED display option with 100% DCI-P3 is popular with the ThinkPad workstation. The Nvidia GeForce RTX A500, previously an optional install, has been replaced by the RTX 500 Ada. Although Lenovo has not confirmed this, the TGP is likely to remain at 30 watts.
The battery options of the ThinkPad P16s Gen 3 have changed slightly, from 52.5 Wh and 86 Wh to 57 Wh and 75 Wh. There is also an M.2-2280 slot in the PCIe 4.0 standard, two Thunderbolt 4, and two USB-A 3.2, while the ThinkPad P16v G2, also introduced today, only has one USB-A port. The laptop also includes Gigabit RJ45, HDMI 2.1 (8K @60 Hz), a 3.5mm audio jack, and WiFi 6E with optional 4G LTE. However, it does not support WiFi 7.

The ThinkPad P16s Gen 3 is available on Newegg.com, Amazon.com, and Bhphotovideo.com at a starting price of $1,479.
The Lenovo P16s G3 adopts the design of many newer ThinkPads with the distinctive reverse notch. However, the weight has increased slightly from 1.7 kg to 1.82 kg. The ThinkPad P14s G5, on the other hand, has undergone a more significant adjustment this year thanks to the now larger 14.5-inch display.
