The affordable TCL S5 2024, also known as the S551G, has launched in the US. This TCL 4K UHD Android TV, an upgraded follow-up to the S4 model, won’t be part of the 2024 lineup. Consumers can select from seven screen sizes, ranging from 43 to 98 inches.

Thanks to high-brightness LED backlighting, the TCL S551G is 25% brighter than the older S4, with a wider color gamut for more vivid images. The TCL smart HDR features the AiPQ processor, the first S-class model to do so, for increased clarity and brightness.

The TCL S551G also supports HDR Pro, with Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The Gaming Accelerator 120, joining MEMC, ALLM, and Game Bar, is a new feature for this TV category. The TCL 4K UHD Android TV comes with a 2-channel speaker system that includes an improved dialog mode. It supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. Additionally, the TV uses Google TV Smart OS, with Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2, and voice controls from Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
