TCL Phones and China Telecom has officially announced two new budget smartphone named TCL Play 2 and TCL Play 2c in China. They started to sell both the TCL smartphones with a package of China Telecom services and they are focused on the young generation. In this year they came out with a total of 6 devices.
TCL Play 2:
The TCL Play 2 features a 5.0-inch On-Cell IPS display with HD 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor which supported by Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (MSM8952) chipset along with Adreno 405 and 2GB of RAM. It packs a 16GB of native storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 32GB.
The Play 2 flaunts a 13-megapixel primary camera with 5P lens, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 85 degree wide-angle lens for group selfies and video calling. The rear camera also able to record Full HD 1080p videos. The TCL Play 2 comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor that can unlock the device in just 0.5 seconds and also supports an IR blaster remote control for home appliances.
TCL Mobile runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and packs a 2500mAh battery that is claimed to last up to a day with a moderate usage. It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 microUSB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack options.
It measures 143.2 x 72.2 x 8.5 mm and weighs 145 grams. TCL Play 2 is available in Cherry Pink, Champagne Gold and White color variants and has been priced at CNY 899 – approximately$140 and will be available for purchase by the end of December in China.
TCL Play 2c:
TCL Play 2c, on the other hand, a budget variant with less features. It has been priced at CNY 699 -approximately $109 and will be available for pre-order in China starts from 10th December and will go on sale from 18th December.
The Play series smartphone is a budget smartphone with a fingerprint sensor. It also features a same 5.0-inch On-Cell IPS display with HD resolution. But less in power, it comes equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor that backed by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chipset along with Adreno 306 GPU. It packs a 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which can be further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB.
On the camera front, includes an 8-megapixel primary camera on the back with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. While front panel also has same an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with LED flash to capture wide selfie shots. Primary camera also able to record 1080p videos.
The TCL Play 2c runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and packs a 2000mAh battery out of the box. It supports dual SIM slot along with 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 microUSB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack connectivity options. It measures 140.9 x 71.05 x 8.58 mm and weighs 145 grams. It also will be available in Champagne Gold and White color variants.
