SUUNTO is well known for its professional sports fitness watches, compasses, and even watches for divers. And recently, the Finnish manufacturer has introduced its GPS watch called SUUNTO 7 which is now available to pre-order via Bhphotovideo.com store for $499.99, and it comes in All Black, Black Lime, Graphite Copper, Sandstone Rosegold, and White Burgundy options.
The SUUNTO 7 GPS fitness watch runs Wear OS. This determines the main differences between this and other Suunto fitness watches. In particular, battery life is declared up to 40 hours, but a full-fledged operating system allows you to install multiple third-party applications. In addition, the watch supports Google Pay, Google Assistant, and Google Fit.
This new watch does not have a cellular modem, but they got a navigation GPS module, the highlight is free offline outdoor maps with built-in heatmaps that download automatically over Wi-Fi. The running watch is capable of tracking over 70 types of physical activity, can monitor the user’s heart rate, and do everything that other watches with Wear OS can do.
The manufacturer separately focuses on the fact that the GPS watch is able to withstand shock, exposure to water, dirt, and snow. For more convenient use during training, there are four physical buttons. The watch runs on Snapdragon Wear 3100. It also has 1GB of RAM and about 4.5GB of free internal storage for storing data. It has an AMOLED touchscreen is protected by scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass.
SUUNTO 7 comes with built-in 70+ sports modes to train and get fit, you can track your progress and share those results with the Suunto app, or with other apps, such as Strava, Endomondo, and TrainingPeaks. You’ll also get insights on how to train smarter, so you can reach your personal fitness goals.
For swimmers, the watch features Pool swim pace, distance, Openwater swims pace, distance, Records heart rate in swimming, Swimming time by pool length, lap, Swimming stroke rate, count, type, Stroke efficiency, Automatic intervals, and Interval lap table.
