Synology has introduced two new storage NAS systems. The two new NAS Enclosure models Synology DiskStation DS2422+ and DS3622xs+ offer twelve hard drive bays. They can also be expanded with the also new DX1222.
Synology is expanding its range with the two new DiskStations DS2422+ and DS3622xs+. Both models are more geared towards professional users such as companies due to their size and price. The company is also launching the DX1222 expansion unit to double the already large capacities of the two new NAS.
Both new Disk Station models have 12 hard disk slots each. 3.5″ SATA hard disks, 2.5″ SATA hard disks, and 2.5″ SATA SSDs can be installed. Depending on the capacity of the storage media, there is a lot of space for data of all kinds.
There are differences between the DiskStation DS2422 + and the DiskStation DS3622xs + in terms of technical equipment. The smaller and cheaper model is equipped with an AMD Ryzen quad-core processor with 2.2 GHz. 4 GB of RAM are built-in, but can optionally be expanded to up to 32 GB. In addition, 10/25 GbE and NVMe SSD cache can be retrofitted. The manufacturer specifies the sequential read / write performance of up to 2,201 / 1,383 MB/s.
The new DiskStation DS3622xs+ goes a step further. It is equipped with an Intel Xeon D-1531 with six cores and a clock frequency of up to 2.7 GHz. In addition, there are 16 GB DDR4 ECC-SODIM ex-works, which can optionally be expanded to up to 48 GB. For a configuration with 32 GB, the manufacturer specifies the sequential read performance with 4,719 MB/s and the maximum capacity of 200 TB. A 10/25 GbE network card is on board, and there are also various upgrade options here.
