SSL UF8 DAW Controller with Color Displays and 100 mm Faders

With UF8, SSL (Solid State Logic) introduces another device that is primarily intended for smaller studios. An advanced DAW controller is not only interesting for music production and mixing, but also for post-production or pod, web, and broadcasting. According to SSL, 40 years of studio experience flow into the UF8. And they are noticeable in the design, which according to the manufacturer is precisely tailored to future users. SSL specifically mentions the eight color displays, the “intelligent” access to faders, and various functions or the installation that can be installed in different angles.

This controller has an integration with the common DAWs and should be equally suitable for music production, mixing, post-production and webcasting. With the new SSL 360° control software, you can carry out various multi-controller configurations or set individual settings for individual keys (five banks with eight user keys and three quick keys). DAW switching can even be operated across multiple layers to quickly switch between projects. You see, SSL has put some thought into it.

The hardware offers eight tracks that you can access directly. These are equipped with touch-sensitive 100 mm faders, each has an endless controller and high-resolution color displays. In this way, you can always see the most important information for the corresponding track on the displays.

The so-called channel encoder on the right side of the device performs various tasks. Mouse Scroll Emulation is a function with which you can control exactly the parameters where the mouse pointer is currently located.

Up to four UF8 can be linked to a surface with a total of 32 channels. As a little bonus, SSL includes the two plug-ins Vocalstrip 2 and Drumstrip.
