Razer is adding the Leviathan V2 X soundboard for PC to its Leviathan soundbar series. The new Leviathan V2 X PC soundbar is more compact and simpler than the Leviathan V2, but the V2 X costs half of the big box.
At the end of April this year, Razer introduced its Leviathan V2 gaming soundbar with subwoofer and RGB lighting for $250. Razer is now expanding its range of soundboards for PC with the cheaper and more compact Leviathan V2 X soundbar. It comes with two broadband drivers and two passive radiators. Razer does without a separate subwoofer in its latest V2 X model.
Compared to the V2 (500 x 91.3 x 84 mm), the new Leviathan V2 X stereo soundbar only needs a desk space of 400 x 71 x 77 millimeters. In addition, the V2 X is significantly lighter at 845 grams than the V2 at 1.4 kilograms, the subwoofer with an additional 3 kilos is omitted anyway. Razer states a frequency range of 85 Hz to 20 kHz for the Leviathan V2 X (V2: 45 Hz to 20 kHz) but does not mention the performance of the speakers. Razer specifies 65 watts (RMS) for the V2.
In terms of connectivity, the Leviathan V2 X soundboard for PC offers a connection to the PC via USB-C cable including Power Delivery (PD) or Bluetooth 5.0. The Razer soundbar can be switched between PC and Bluetooth mode using the source button. The Leviathan V2 X also integrates the Razer Chroma RGB LED system with 14 lighting zones, a 10-band EQ, and various sound presets.
The RGB lighting and sound settings can be adjusted via Razer Synapse. The Razer Audio app is available for the smartphone, with which the soundbar can be muted, the volume adjusted, and the EQ adjusted.
