Sony Xperia XZ Premium Quick Review

New Motion Eye camera technology, 4K display with HDR support, a reflective mirror-like a 2.5D curved glass finish which also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, an interesting High-Res audio feature, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processors, 4GB RAM – all this about the Sony Xperia XZ Premium.

Design

Sony does not have any special modifications or any major changes in the design. What we have seen in the Xperia XZ, we see in the Xperia XZ Premium, but the fact is that only the size of the device has increased. However, XZ Premium comes with its own distinct identity, as it also flaunts a rear mirror finish glass surface that is quite reflective. Also on the front is the 2.5D curved glass panel with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Similar to the most of Sony device, this one also comes with standard IP65 / 68 ratings for underwater shooting and USB-C port. The device also has an oleophobic coating on all sides and promises that scars or marks will not be as noticeable. The Motion Eye camera technology allows you to perform various experiments with the images, for example, if you see something interesting, pulled out your XZ Premium, hover, and it takes three shots, specifying moving objects in a frame. When you press the button, it will be the fourth frame. Then you will be prompted to select the best shot and delete the rest.

Performance

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which is quite responsive without any issues while multitasking. It packs 4GB of RAM with 64GB of native storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The handset running Android 7.1.1 Nougat and packs in a 3230mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
