Sony Xperia 8 With 6.0-inch 21:9 Wide FHD+ Display, Dual Rear Camera, SD630 Launched

After the launch of the Xperia 5 (pre-order details), now the Japanese company has announced the Sony Xperia 8 smartphone in Japan. It is mid-range device comes with a 6.0-inch 21:9 Wide LCD display, 4GB RAM, Dual Rear Cameras and IPX5 / 8 and IP6X certified.

Price and Availability

The Sony Xperia 8 price in Japan has been set at YEN 54,000 – approximately $505 including tax, and YEN 50,000 – approximately $467 excluding tax and will go on sale in Japan from late October. The device Gray, Black, Orange, and Blue color options.

Sony Xperia 8 Specifications

The Sony Xperia 8 features a 6.0-inch Wide LCD display with Full HD+ (2560 x 1080 pixels resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 630 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 508 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It packs a 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 512GB.

On the camera front, the Xperia 8 bears a 13-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture, EIS, LED flash and an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture and 2X optical zoom for Images. For selfie, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The device has a fingerprint sensor on the right, has a waterproof (IPX5 / 8) and dustproof (IP6X) body.

It is also protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the back and comes with Sony’s High-Resolution Audio with and LDAC technology. The handset runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and packs a 2760mAh battery with fast charging. For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C. The device measures 158 x 69 x 8.1 mm and weighs 170 grams.
