- Sony Xperia 1 Mark II retains a very long aspect ratio, but the design is more masculine
- A group of Three cameras going to the left, using the ZEISS optics
- The true Sony screen is very sharp and beautiful
- High price: $1,198
In this Sony Xperia 1 Mark 2 generation, Sony still maintains a 21:9 aspect ratio, making the device look much thinner and taller, combined with thicker top/bottom edges, so the machine feels taller. We see that the device has two glass sides with metal bezels, but this time, Sony did not bend the edges, so it looks very masculine and beautiful. The design is very familiar as Sony has also used it in their previous Xperia devices.
The hard button cluster is still on the right side, but smaller than the power button, which is now a fingerprint sensor, touch to unlock or open the display. Sony still keeps the hard shutter button facing down. On the opposite side is the SIM slot, at the top is the return of the headphone jack, which the Xperia 1 lacked. While the bottom edge only has a mic and USB-C port, and the top front of the screen has an external speaker.
In this White color version, the speaker is quite visible, we don’t have a black/purple version, but we think it will be harder to see than the white version. It is a slot that runs on the sides, where the screen and metal frame border. This slot is narrower than the top speaker slot and is separated into two different sections, black, and silver.
Camera and Specs
The Sony Xperia 1 Mark II is equipped with a very high configuration: Snapdragon 865 SoC with 5G connectivity, 8GB RAM, 4000mAh battery, 6.5-inch OLED screen, and Triple 12MP Cameras with ZEISS Optics. True color, but the camera we haven’t tried much, especially the Photo Pro app, cannot be used. It comes with pre-installed Android 10 will have to use swipe gestures for full control, no more 3 Android buttons.
Sony had a Cinema Pro app for a professional shooting last year, this year it added Photo Pro for more professional photography in addition to the default camera app. While entering this application, we see the Alpha logo appearing here, Sony said that it was developed with Alpha Team technology. Try to take pictures, the Xperia 1 Mark 2 concentrates and focuses very well, especially on moving subjects. When the subject is moving, the camera will track and focus on the face, when shooting, the camera will try to focus at that distance, thus reduces the problem of being unable to focus when the subject is moving fast.
